Series Three — Business Storytelling in the Age of AI (2027-2029) — OUR FOCUS in Wed. Labs

    Paul
Bannes Observes This Story Where He Lives
    Proposed workshop titles

Volume 1: Generative AI, Quantum Storytelling, and Organizational Futures

    Possible Eds: Boje and Rosile
    • Quantum Antenarratives in GenAI — Boje
    • ML as Living Story — Rosile & Boje
    • LLMs Intra-Actions — Saylors
    • Ethical Guardrails — Larsen

Volume 2: Algorithmic AI Sensemaking and Big Data Antenarratives

    Proposed Volume Editor: Jillian Saylors

Working focus: Narrative Authority, Cognitive Access, and Institutional Legitimacy in the Age of AI. This volume examines generative AI as a cultural, institutional, and storytelling force rather than merely a technical tool. It would bring antenarrative and the seven Bs into conversation with disability and neurodiversity, AI-supported cognition, authorship, scholarly labour, expertise, provenance, trust, surveillance, and governance. Its central question is how human–AI arrangements reorganize who may think, know, decide, and count as a legitimate knower while competing stories of liberation, access, plagiarism, replacement, collaboration, and accountability are still emerging.

Volume 3: True Storytelling, DEI, and the Age of AI

    Proposed Volume Editor: Oscar Edwards
Proposed role: Volume Editor and contributing author
    Prospective co-editor: Jens Larsen
Prospective contributing author: Ken Long — AI as Support Agent in the Monday True Storytelling Circle

This volume would explore how AI-mediated storytelling changes diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, representation, and voice in organizations. It would use True Storytelling to ask whose experiences are amplified, stereotyped, excluded, or made answerable when algorithmic systems shape organizational communication, hiring, evaluation, and public narratives. Contributors would examine practical and ethical pathways for inclusive storying that resists the reduction of people and communities to data categories or synthetic corporate speech. Ken Long's prospective contribution explores AI support for the Monday True Storytelling Circle: a grounded knowledge base, synthesis of recorded sessions, participant projects, and each member's own true story of AI-enabled transformation.

Volume 4: Human-AI Co-Creation in Entrepreneurship and Strategy

    Proposed Volume Editor: Anton Shufutinsky

This volume centers human factors, sociotechnical systems, and human-systems integration in the co-creation of organizational futures with AI. Building from Contemporary Sociotechnical Systems Theory and the work of Trist and Lewin, it would investigate human–technical interaction, integration, and the conditions under which AI augments rather than displaces human judgment. A proposed introductory chapter would connect these theoretical advances to the organizational stories through which people make sense of AI-enabled work, entrepreneurship, and strategy.

Volume 5: Strategy Storytelling Against Cognitive Surrender

Proposed Editor or Co-Editor: Yue Cai
Volume introduction in development: Mark Hillon

Drawing on chapters already developed for Yue Cai’s strategy-storytelling volume, this volume offers an antidote to the AI demand for cognitive surrender. Its proposed contents include strategic renewal in a small family-run business; storytelling in multinational corporations as a socially accomplished activity; the deconstruction of financial stories during global crisis; the convergence of management, ethics, and aesthetics in True Storytelling; socio-economic world-building; and Wilma Dykeman’s community-based account of prosperity, sacred place, existential meaning, and answerability. Mark Hillon is developing an introduction that connects these chapters to the Age of AI theme; Yue Cai may serve as editor or co-editor and/or contribute a chapter.
